Quantum Sky is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our IT Department. This role is a hands-on, high-impact technical position responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the systems, infrastructure, and automation that keep the organization running securely and efficiently. The Senior Systems Engineer will work across the full technology stack — from core infrastructure like Windows, Linux, and macOS environments, Active Directory, and Azure, to endpoint management platforms like Intune and N-central, to modern initiatives like AI and agentic AI deployment, workflow automation, and API-driven integrations.

This person will be equally comfortable troubleshooting an end user's ticket and sitting down with executive leadership to translate a business problem into a technical solution. They will operate independently on complex initiatives while also collaborating closely with other members of the IT team, and will bring strong project management discipline to everything from routine maintenance to large-scale platform rollouts.

Responsibilities:

• Systems & Infrastructure Management Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux Server environments, including patching, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting. Manage Active Directory, including user and group provisioning, group policy, permissions, and overall directory health and security. Support and maintain the organization's Azure environment, including resource provisioning, cost management, and alignment with security best practices.

• Endpoint Management Manage the full endpoint lifecycle across the organization's Windows, macOS, and mobile devices, from provisioning and configuration through patching and retirement. Use Microsoft Intune to enforce compliance policies, deploy applications, and standardize device configuration across the fleet, and use N-central to monitor endpoint and server health, automate patching, and respond proactively to alerts before they become issues for end users.

• AI and Automation Lead the deployment and ongoing management of AI tools and agentic AI solutions across the organization, evaluating new capabilities and ensuring safe, effective rollout. Design and build scripts and automations that reduce manual work, improve reliability, and streamline IT and business operations. Build automations using APIs to connect disparate systems and enable data flow between platforms.

• Collaboration & Productivity Platform Administration Administer Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence, including workflow configuration, permissions, integrations, and ongoing optimization to support IT and cross-functional teams. Manage source control and development workflows in GitHub, supporting versioning, collaboration, and CI/CD practices where applicable.

• Cloud, Security, and Compliance Administer Microsoft 365 GCC High (GCCH), ensuring configuration and usage align with compliance and security requirements. Manage Microsoft Purview for data governance, information protection, and compliance monitoring. Administer and maintain Zscaler for secure web gateway and Zero Trust network access, monitoring for issues and optimizing policies. Ensure systems, integrations, and automations follow best practices for data security, compliance, and performance, following organizational standards.

• End-User and Executive Support Provide responsive, high-quality support to end users on day-to-day tickets and technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and a positive user experience. Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical, scalable technical solutions. Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and represent IT perspectives in strategic discussions.

• Project & Initiative Management Independently manage technical projects from scoping through implementation, applying strong project management practices to keep initiatives on time, on budget, and aligned with business goals. Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams as needed to support project delivery and ongoing operations. Document systems, processes, and automations to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 5 to 7 years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or a related technical role.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI deployment and agentic AI deployment.

• Strong scripting and automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).

• Experience administering Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence.

• Experience with Microsoft 365 GCC High (GCCH) and Microsoft Purview.

• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.

• Experience building automations and integrations using APIs.

• Proven experience managing Windows Server and Linux Server environments.

• Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration.

• Experience administering macOS devices in an enterprise environment.

• Experience with Microsoft Intune for endpoint and mobile device management.

• Experience with N-central or comparable RMM platforms.

• Experience with Zscaler or comparable secure web gateway/Zero Trust platforms.

• Familiarity with GitHub for source control and collaborative development.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both end users and executive stakeholders.

• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert

• Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate

• Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900)

• Apple Certified Support Professional or other macOS administration credentials

• Zscaler Digital Transformation Administrator (ZDTA) or Zero Trust Cyber Associate (ZTCA)

• Atlassian Certified Professional – Jira Administrator or Jira Service Management

• N-able certifications, CompTIA Security+, Server+, or Linux+, Atlassian Certified Professional (Jira/JSM/Confluence), GitHub Foundations or GitHub Actions certification, and any recognized AI or automation platform certifications.

The ideal candidate is a versatile technologist who moves fluidly between hands-on execution and strategic conversation — someone who can resolve a help desk ticket in the morning and help executives shape a technology roadmap in the afternoon. Strong ownership, curiosity about emerging technology (particularly AI and automation), and a track record of turning ambiguous business needs into concrete technical solutions are essential.

Compensation:

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $140,000-$155,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
