Posting Title: Production Compliance & Compensation Analyst

Reports To: Supervisor, Production Compliance

Location: San Jose, CA | Hybrid

Salary Range: $28.85/hour to $37.50/hour

THE PRODUCTION TEAM

The Production Team is responsible for overseeing Cupertino Electric’s Field workforce, ensuring that all projects are executed with the high standards of safety, productivity, scheduling, quality and cost control. Our team is dedicated to operational excellence, maintaining tight control over project execution from start to finish. We take pride in developing and deploying the best Field Managers in the industry, leaders who drive performance, uphold standards, and deliver successful project outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role supports the Production Compliance Supervisor in ensuring Cupertino Electric’s project compensation practices are accurately configured, consistently applied, and compliant with state labor laws, union agreements, and CEI internal standards. This role plays a key part in establishing and maintaining project-specific compensation rules, analyzing site compensation data, and distributing reporting to key stakeholders to ensure alignment and audit readiness across CEI projects.

This position requires a high attention to detail, strong analytical skills, discretion with sensitive compensation data, and the ability to collaborate across Production, Payroll, HR, and Project Leadership teams.

Compensation Configuration & Project Rule Support

  • Support the setup and administration of project compensation rules based on:

  • State wage & hour requirements (meal/rest penalties, overtime rules, etc.)

  • Union requirements (shift rules, premiums, etc.)

  • Project labor agreements and site-specific requirements

  • Validate accuracy of compensation rule implementation within systems and tools (ex: Lumber, JDE)

  • Maintain documentation for project rule decisions and ensure consistency with CEI compensation standards

Reporting, Analysis & Distribution

  • Generate, analyze, and distribute site-specific compensation reports (weekly/biweekly/monthly as needed)

  • Identify trends, anomalies, risk indicators, and potential compliance issues (ex: missed break patterns, missed attestation patterns)

  • Provide summarized insights and recommendations to the Production Compliance Supervisor and project teams

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Monitor project adherence to CEI standards for compensation practices and reporting requirements

  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews related to timekeeping, job coding, compensation rule application, and site pay practices

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong understanding of wage/hour concepts (overtime, premiums, break compliance, etc.) and/or union jobsite practices

  • Highly skilled in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data validation, reporting formats); comfort working with large datasets

  • Experience working with timekeeping/payroll systems (ex: JDE, Lumber)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, high-accuracy work

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly with field and corporate teams

  • High discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality with compensation and sensitive workforce information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in production administration, payroll support, compliance, labor reporting, or project administration, preferably in construction
