Join us at the New Iberia office of the Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV), where you will play a key role in shaping safe and responsible driving in our state! Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent plus five years of experience or training in any field.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the general experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here. Job Duties:
- Supervise, assign, review, and evaluate the work of subordinates engaged in the application and enforcement of motor vehicle laws, rules, and regulations
- Participate in the interviewing of customers for, and the issuance of, driver's licenses, identification cards, and motor vehicle titling and registration and/or reinstatement
- Conduct title searches and examine title documents
- Prepare and review data associated with obtaining motor vehicle licenses and identification cards
- Coordinate with various state agencies involved in state driver history and titling
- Assist in resolving any title issues that may arise during the transaction process
- Maintain accurate records of all title-related and licensing documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the process. Direct supervision over Motor Vehicle Compliance Analysts 1, 2, and 3.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This posting may be used to fill a probational, promotional, or job appointment. Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. In addition to other types of pay, including market adjustments and promotions.
