The Advanced Research team has a need for a Principal Engineer in Supplier Engineering and Strategic Sourcing. This role involves activities related to the development of Automotive, NVIDIA’s Gaming, Shield, High Performance Compute, intelligent production systems, and other products. It emphasizes linking early proof of concepts and development to product applications. As part of a multi-functional team, your task would be to build suppliers eco-systems in support of all business segments including but not limited to Desktops, Servers, Automotive, AI factories and NVIDIA Shield products. Your excellent communication skills, strong sourcing engineering technical background with product and eco-system development knowledge which related to manufacturing processes, are meaningful.
What You'll Be Doing:
-
Own the strategy and execution for vendor and collaborator engagement across all technology categories, ensuring the supply ecosystem never limits NVIDIA's pace of innovation.
-
Serve as the main technical and commercial link between NVIDIA's development groups and the global supplier ecosystem, translating complex technology requirements into actionable supply strategies.
-
Drive early supplier involvement in advanced technology programs, enabling co-development and co-investment that accelerates time-to-market and de-risks technology transitions.
-
Lead commercial and technical negotiations, structuring agreements including SOW, NRE investment models, capacity commitments, and long-term partnership frameworks.
-
Partner with Engineering, Research, Program Management, and Operations to provide supply feasibility input early in the development cycle.
-
Apply deep knowledge of emerging technology trends to identify strategic partnership opportunities and ensure NVIDIA has access to the right capabilities ahead of industry adoption.
-
Build supplier development programs that raise engineering maturity, process capability, and operational stability across NVIDIA's vendor base.
-
Lead executive-level supplier relationships and strategic business reviews, driving alignment on technology roadmaps, performance, and long-term direction.
What we need to see:
-
10+ years of relevant experience in Supplier Engineering & Strategic Sourcing
-
BSc. or MSc. in Industrial Engineering & Management
-
Ability to translate product needs from fundamental concepts through ecosystem considerations, ensuring optimized, cost-effective designs
-
End-to-end product coverage experience, including assessment of manufacturing and supply partners — with hands-on experience in volume manufacturing, working with overseas manufacturers, and leading external resources including component suppliers and manufacturing partners
-
Proven track record in leading supplier selection and qualification processes in partnership with engineering and research teams, including establishing and maintaining a resilient, strategically aligned Recommended Vendor List across relevant technology areas
-
Technical knowledge across electrical components, PCB, optical components, mechanical, and thermal domains
-
Proficiency with ERP and PLM systems, with demonstrated use of AI tools
