Summary
You will serve as a DIRECTOR, SPECIAL PROJECTS DIRECTORATE in the OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR, MARINE CORPS STAFF of HQ US MARINE CORPS.
Duties
- You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of high-visibility executive level events involving senior Marine Corps, civilian, federal, and international leaders.
- You will perform detailed operational planning, logistical coordination, and direct execution of these major events.
- You will coordinate requirements among organizational units during formative stages of project initiation, project design, and project implementation.
- You will direct and manage the daily technical and administrative supervision of the Directorate's workforce.
- You will participate in the formulation of long- and short-range planning efforts, resource projections, priorities, and justifications.
- You will perform comprehensive general administration, fiscal tracking, and office support for the Directorate.
- You will foster a continual learning environment and identify adequate resources are allotted for employee training needs and development.
- You will formulate and implement affirmative action plans to ensure a continuing, affirmative application of USMC policies concerning equal employment opportunity.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating, and directing large-scale executive conferences and high-visibility programs for senior military or civilian leadership; 2) managing fiscal operations and certifying financial compliance; 3) and executing supervisory and talent management functions-including setting performance standards, evaluating personnel, and ensuring adherence to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be serving in a position in Schedule Policy/Career of the excepted service. You will obtain competitive status after two years of service in this position, if applicable. Your employment in this position will be at-will. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeals of adverse actions concerning performance, discipline, and other matters arising under Chapters 23, 43, and 75 of title 5, United States Code, will not be available to an individual serving in this position. Prohibitions on prohibited personnel practices will be enforced by the Department of War Office of General Counsel and not the Office of Special Counsel.
