Full job description

Summary:

Meta is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our suite of products operates to meet the demands of our customers. The EHS Lead will work with the global EHS team and local data center site management to develop and proven experience acting as a subject matter expert in the area of EHS program to keep all data center employees and all Meta partners safe while working at our facilities and ensure compliance with our EHS standards.

Required Skills:

Environmental Health and Safety Lead Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and company health, safety and environmental policies, including tracking all necessary records and documentation

  2. Provide functional direction to contracted services

  3. Establish and grow positive cross-functional relationships with all site teams to gain alignment on strategic priorities

  4. Partner with a diverse range of vendors to uphold EHS requirements on site

  5. Assist in the development and implementation of organization wide EHS standards and guidelines

  6. Develop site-based plans for the implementation and on-going management of global EHS standards

  7. Build and maintain a site safety environment that engages and involves site leadership and site team members to be active participants

  8. Manage activities to support day-to-day EHS operations and partner with relevant EHS professionals involved in construction activities to ensure alignment and segregation of responsibilities, as appropriate

  9. Actively support in incident investigations, root cause analyses and injury case management

  10. Maintain operational safety programs for the team (electrical glove exchange, fall protection inspections etc.)

  11. Review site work procedures to assign risk levels and review risk mitigation plans

  12. Participate in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and make health, safety and environmental recommendations accordingly

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years' experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field

  2. Bachelor's degree in safety or health sciences, or related discipline and 4+ years of experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field in lieu of 8+ years of experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field

  3. Experience in EHS program management and execution

  4. Experience in leading or managing incident investigation and mitigation

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

  2. 12+ years' experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field

  3. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  4. Experience with NFPA 70E, management of federal regulations and/or environmental permitting processes

  5. EHS certifications from Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) or equivalent international agency

  6. Experience or understanding of procedure-based work

  7. Experience working in a mission critical environment

  8. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  9. Bachelor's degree in safety related field

Public Compensation:

$145,000/year to $205,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
