Senior Python / AI Engineer

Location: Palo Alto, CA Type: Contractor Work setup: Hybrid — visit office once in a few weeks About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Python / AI Engineer to build and deploy Python-based, agentic AI automations for business processes. The role is primarily focused on new automation development, from solution design through testing and deployment. Some solutions run on GCP, and occasionally you may convert existing RPA/UiPath workflows into Python-based agentic solutions. What You’ll Do

• Design and build Python-based automations and agentic AI workflows.
• Integrate LLM agents, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Deploy and operate solutions on GCP.
• Build automated tests and support CI/CD deployments.
• Troubleshoot and optimize production automations.
• Conduct code reviews and support junior/mid-level engineers.
• Explain technical approaches and trade-offs to clients and stakeholders.
• Occasionally migrate UiPath/RPA workflows to Python and agentic AI.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Python engineering experience, including production applications, APIs, or data pipelines.
• Experience building LLM/agentic AI automations and orchestration workflows.
• Strong solution design and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Hands-on exposure to GCP (Cloud Run, GKE, App Engine, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, or similar).
• Experience writing maintainable, well-tested Python code.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice to Have

• UiPath or other RPA experience.
• Experience migrating RPA workflows to Python/AI.
• Consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
• AWS or Azure exposure.
• Familiarity with process mining, low-code platforms, or conversational AI.
