Job Focus Area In HR at LDOE our mission is to provide Human Resources guidance, support, and continuity of services from onboarding until transition. We provide ongoing support and counsel to candidates and employees alike, working every day to improve. We’re looking for a Human Resources Analyst to serve as the first point of contact at the agency regarding Continuous Performance Management, Policy administration, as well as SCS compliance inquiries while providing office support that keeps the office running smoothly.

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus two years of human resources experience; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus two years of human resources experience; OR

An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate plus one year of human resources experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience. As a HR Analyst, you'll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors. In this role, you will:

• Greet visitors and staff with kindness and professionalism
• Manage the agency’s CPM process from start to finish, tracking movement and assisting as required
• Answer incoming calls and provide general information about office services
• Coordinate and update job descriptions
• Policy administration
• Communicate daily with other analysts, specialists, office and agency leaders
• Support the team with everyday tasks

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group Work Schedule: Workdays are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. **Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Human Resources Analyst series has a special entrance rate (SER) of $24.31 hourly, $1,944.80 biweekly that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
