CLA is seeking to hire an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our talented tax team. The position offers flexibility and a collaborative work environment.

This role prepares tax returns for clients as individuals or businesses or on behalf of a trust or estate. They play a key role in helping individuals and businesses comply with tax laws and regulations, while minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing tax savings.

How you'll create opportunities in this Seasonal Tax Preparer role:

Tax Preparation: Prepare 1040 forms for individual income tax returns and files tax returns electronically or by mail. Maintains accurate records of tax returns and related documents. Ensure tax return compliance with tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local tax laws.

Consultation: Calculate tax liabilities and refunds based on the information provided. Identify and apply any available tax deductions, credits, or exemptions that may be applicable to the taxpayer's situation. May perform detailed reviews on tax returns, research, and compliance work with an emphasis on calculations, accounting theory, and tax law compliance. Maintain technical tax skills through continuing professional education, on the job training and participation in internal tax training sessions. Perform tax research where appropriate

Administrative: Collect and organize tax-related documents, such as income statements, expense receipts, and investment records, and enter data from these documents into tax preparation software.

Client Management: Communicate directly with clients to answer questions and provide guidance on tax-related matters. Record billable time in billing system to ensure timely client billing/invoicing.

Job Requirements:

1 year of relevant experience in tax return preparation preferred

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Associates degree preferred.

The compensation range for this position in Maryland is: $27.10 - $44.00.

The compensation range for this position in Massachusetts is: $28.20 - $44.00.

The compensation range for this position in New Jersey is: $30.40 - $44.00.

The compensation range for this position in New York is: $31.40 - $45.50.
