This position is located in the Deputy Secretary's Office.

This position serves as the confidential assistant to the Deputy Secretary. The incumbent will provide executive level administrative support by exercising a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.

Five years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience. - Processes sensitive and confidential matters for the Deputy Secretary.
- Researches data and independently drafts responses for the Secretary or the Deputy Secretary's signature.
- Responsible for the coordination and accurate reporting of the 8 state and 8 parish facilities currently under contract via the Governor's Project clean-Up Litter Program.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Promotion of a permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC)
- The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted, or may be required to accept a probational appointment.
Compensation: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and NOT the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.Other Important Information:
- IMPORTANT: In the supplemental questions section, applicants must authorize the HR Office of DPS&C-Corrections Services to contact prior employers to check references under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), to be considered for employment, by answering ‘YES’ to the PREA question.
- Any degree, certificate, special license, or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire.
- Any qualifying experience that is based on college credit/college hours should have an accompanying transcript for verification.• This is a 24 hour facility.
