Job Summary

The Lead Clinical Informatics Systems Adoption Specialist, Oracle Health Phys Track leads training, onboarding, readiness, workflow adoption, and optimization activities. Designs and delivers role-based EHR education for physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and other authorized provider users across inpatient, ambulatory, emergency, procedural, and specialty settings.

Develops and maintains provider-focused curricula and competency assessments and supports end users during implementations, conversions, upgrades, enhancements, optimizations, go-live events, and stabilization periods. Collaborates with physician informatics, clinical leadership, operational teams, application teams, project teams, education partners, and provider champions to ensure training reflects approved workflows and configured EHR functionality.

Supports provider workflow validation and test-script activities, evaluates training and adoption outcomes, and recommends targeted improvements. The Lead serves as a trusted physician-workflow subject matter expert who guides complex initiatives with limited direction and mentors P1-P3 adoption specialists. This position independently owns assigned training and adoption initiatives from planning through sustainment

Essential Functions

  • Patient & Customer Impact

  • Plans and delivers role-based Oracle Health Cerner education and onboarding using instructor-led, virtual, simulation-based, individualized, and on-demand learning methods that support safe, effective, and efficient clinical workflows.

  • Coordinates provider onboarding, workflow practice, readiness activities, and competency validation for assigned specialties, departments, and clinical roles.

  • Provides advanced end-user support during implementations, conversions, upgrades, optimization initiatives, go-live events, and stabilization activities.

  • Supports adoption of approved workflows that promote clinician efficiency, patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance.

  • Execution & Accountability

  • Independently manages assigned physician adoption, training, readiness, and onboarding activities with limited supervision.

  • Develops and maintains provider-focused curricula, lesson plans, workflow scenarios, presentations, job aids, and competency assessments.

  • Maintains training-content libraries and supporting documentation using established content-management and version-control standards.

  • Defines, tracks, and analyzes provider training completion, competency, readiness, feedback, and adoption metrics.

  • Maintains required training, readiness, workflow-validation, and adoption-support documentation

  • Collaboration & Partnership

  • Partners with physician informatics, application teams, provider leadership, operational stakeholders, education teams, and project teams to support workflow adoption and organizational readiness.

  • Coordinates physician champion and provider super-user engagement activities, including preparation, communication, feedback collection, and workflow reinforcement.

  • Represents physician training, competency, readiness, and adoption requirements in project, workflow design, testing, implementation, and optimization of discussions.

  • Shares knowledge, provides guidance, and supports professional development of P1–P3 adoption specialists through coaching, consultation, and best-practice sharing.

  • Improvement & Innovation

  • Conducts workflow assessments to identify training gaps, workflow variation, adoption barriers, and opportunities to improve provider utilization of clinical systems.

  • Evaluates training effectiveness, provider feedback, readiness outcomes, and adoption results to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Updates learning materials, competency tools, workflow guides, and adoption resources to support approved optimizations and workflow enhancements.

  • Recommends improvements to educational strategies, workflow reinforcement approaches, and sustainment activities based on measurable outcomes and organizational needs.

  • Stewardship, Quality & Integrity

  • Supports compliance with organizational standards, approved workflows, regulatory requirements, training policies, and documentation expectations.

  • Identifies, documents, and communicates readiness, workflow, adoption, and training risks through established governance and project channels.

  • Supports workflow-validation and testing activities and communicates outcomes through approved processes.

  • Distinguishes educational concerns from workflow, application, access, configuration, or technical issues and escalates concerns appropriately.

  • Maintains integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of training, readiness, competency, and adoption documentation.

  • Expertise & Leadership Influence

  • Serves as a trusted subject matter expert for assigned Oracle Health Cerner physician and advanced practice provider workflows.

  • Provides consultation and guidance regarding provider readiness, workflow adoption, and learning strategies during implementations, conversions, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.

  • Influences physician adoption and workflow standardization through expertise, education, communication, and relationship building rather than positional authority.

  • Serves as a trusted resource for physician education strategy, workflow optimization, competency development, and adoption best practices.

  • Contributes to the development and advancement of enterprise training standards, adoption practices, and physician enablement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Information Systems, Public Health, Health Information Management, or related field required (A combination of relevant education, certifications, and physician-workflow training or clinical informatics experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)

  • 7 years of Experience in clinical informatics, physician EHR training, physician onboarding, workflow adoption, or related healthcare technology roles, including advanced familiarity with physician workflows; OR 5 years of Experience in clinical informatics, physician EHR training, physician onboarding, workflow adoption, or related healthcare technology roles, including advanced familiarity with physician workflows

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Training physicians or advanced practice providers on Oracle Health Cerner workflows.

  • Supporting provider onboarding and credentialed user readiness.

  • Supporting an EHR implementation or conversion.

  • Supporting EHR upgrades, enhancements, or provider optimization initiatives.

  • Developing provider workflow curricula, simulations, job aids, or competency assessments.

  • Supporting provider go-live and stabilization activities.

  • Participating in workflow validation, test-script execution, or dress-rehearsal activities.

  • Coordinating physician champions or provider super users.

  • Analyzing provider training, readiness, feedback, or adoption information.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert-level instructional design, adult learning, facilitation, coaching, and program architecture skills for physician audiences.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for physician, project, governance, and leadership forums.

  • Expert understanding of physician workflows, clinical documentation, ordering, results review, decision support, and care transitions across acute and ambulatory settings.

  • Ability to create provider-focused curricula, workflow scenarios, job aids, and competency assessments.

  • Ability to assess training and workflow impacts associated with conversions, upgrades, enhancements, and optimizations.

  • Working knowledge of end-user workflow validation and test-script support.

  • Ability to document findings accurately and communicate issues through established channels.

  • Ability to distinguish training issues from workflow, application, configuration, access, or technical concerns.

  • Knowledge of change-management, readiness, adoption, and sustainment practices.

  • Ability to interpret training, competency, feedback, and adoption information.

  • Ability to translate complex system functionality and governance decisions into practical physician workflow education.

  • Strong stakeholder coordination and relationship-management skills.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, learning-management systems, reporting tools, and content-management practices.

  • Ability to lead complex, multi-site initiatives independently while managing competing clinical and operational priorities.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Active clinical licensure (e.g., RN, RT, PharmD, or similar) preferred
