General Clerk | PD Mobile

JOB SUMMARY

This job will be filled as a Non-Exempt Level 3-6 depending on the experience, skills and abilities of the successful candidate. This position will be located at the engineering office in West Mobile. Candidate must be a self-starter who supports Safety First, is well organized, and works well in a team environment. Candidate must possess a positive attitude, customer focus, and attention to detail.

Primary duties would include: work order assembly, processing joint use and customer billing, processing of permits, timekeeping, invoice and expense processing, addressing customer needs via the telephone and in person, communicating with other departments regarding customer concerns, office supply management, scheduling and support for meeting arrangements, storm restoration assistance, and overall office support including customer service and various other miscellaneous tasks. This position reports directly to the Engineering Supervisor.

Experience Requirements

  • Must have proficient computer skills and a thorough understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications

  • Must have a working knowledge of, or the ability to learn, various systems including: Oracle Expenses, PaySOurce, C2M, JETS, CAMP, NJUNS, ARCOS, and ADMS

  • Previous clerical duties or administrative support preferred

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Effective time management skills

  • Ability to handle telephone calls and direct customers with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy

  • Requires a wide range of administrative and general support duties of a highly responsible and confidential nature
