Description
We are looking for an early-career attorney to join a growing boutique practice in White Plains, New York, with a focus on estate planning, elder law, and Medicaid-related matters. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients on highly personal planning needs while developing practical experience in probate and estate administration. The ideal candidate is thoughtful, organized, and comfortable balancing independent legal work with a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:

Prepare a range of estate planning documents, including wills, trust instruments, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related planning materials.

Meet with clients to understand family, financial, and long-term planning objectives, then shape those priorities into tailored legal strategies.

Collect and analyze financial and asset information to support the design of effective estate and elder law plans.

Work closely with accountants, financial planners, insurance representatives, and other outside advisors to keep planning recommendations aligned across disciplines.

Support probate, estate settlement, and related administration matters from initial filing through follow-up tasks.

Communicate regularly with clients and other stakeholders to provide updates, answer questions, and maintain a high standard of service.

Conduct legal research and written analysis to assist with planning recommendations, case strategy, and matter-specific issues.

Contribute to additional matters that may involve real estate-related issues when needed.

Manage assigned files efficiently while maintaining accurate documentation and meeting deadlines.
Requirements
-
1-5 years of legal experience, preferably in estate planning, elder law, Medicaid planning, probate, or estate administration; candidates with a strong interest in this practice area will also be considered.

Active New York bar membership in good standing is required; admission in Connecticut is a plus (or ability to waive in)

Demonstrated ability to draft clear, accurate legal documents and correspondence.

Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with careful attention to detail.

Ability to handle matters with a degree of independence while working effectively as part of a team.

Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, courts, advisors, and colleagues.

Comfort using Microsoft Office and common legal practice technology.
