Full job description

**Sped Teacher – North Charleston, SC **

Local Pay: $56.42/hour

Travel Pay:

Travel Rate (based on 40 hours): Hourly $21.72, Stipend (Lodging $966.00 + M&I $280.00) = $1,610.00

Total Comp :$2,478.80

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and student progress.

  • Provide specially designed instruction, accommodations, and modifications.

  • Deliver individual and small-group instruction based on student needs.

  • Assess academic, behavioral, and functional performance.

  • Develop lesson plans, interventions, and behavior supports.

  • Maintain required student records and progress documentation.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and school staff.

  • Supervise and provide direction to paraprofessionals as assigned.

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with special education laws and school policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant college coursework preferred.

  • Previous experience working with children or students with disabilities is preferred.

  • Ability to follow instructional plans, IEP accommodations, behavior support plans, and teacher direction.

  • Possess effective communication, interpersonal, and classroom support skills.
