Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Oracle Database Administrator to support the administration and maintenance of enterprise Oracle databases. This position will be located in Washington, D.C. and will be a fully remote within the United States position.

Responsibilities

The Mid-Level Oracle DBA supports the administration and maintenance of enterprise Oracle databases, ensuring reliability, performance, and adherence to standards. The position is ideal for professionals with solid foundational experience who are ready to advance their technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database instances and related components.

  • Conduct routine maintenance, health checks, tuning, and proactive monitoring.

  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL procedures, scripts, and utilities.

  • Execute patching cycles, upgrades, schema changes, and deployment activities.

  • Participate in backup/restore operations using Oracle RMAN.

  • Support HA/DR systems and ensure readiness through testing and documentation.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot database performance and stability issues.

  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure aligned implementation.

  • Maintain detailed documentation and adhere to security and compliance standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required:

  • Minimum 4 years Oracle DBA experience.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.

  • Experience with RMAN, Oracle Grid, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and related tools.

  • Ability to identify and triage issues efficiently.

  • Strong SQL scripting skills and familiarity with automation.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate across teams.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

Posted Salary Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
