Operations Analyst

Description

We are looking for an Operations Analyst to join a logistics and distribution team in Lebanon, Indiana in a contract role with the potential to become permanent. This position focuses on improving day-to-day operational performance through data review, process evaluation, and close coordination across supply chain activities. The ideal candidate will use analytical insight to support efficient inventory flow, transportation performance, and cost-conscious distribution decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Create reports and spreadsheets by extracting operational data from SQL Server and related systems to support business decisions.

• Review shipment activity, inventory movement, and transportation spending to uncover trends, service issues, and opportunities for improvement.

• Track and maintain supply chain performance measures, providing regular updates on key operational results.

• Identify workflow gaps across warehouse, distribution, and transportation functions and recommend practical solutions to improve efficiency.

• Support order scheduling activities, including retrieval, tagging, and wave planning within internal operating systems.

• Partner with logistics teams, carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to improve delivery accuracy and reduce service delays.

• Assist with technology-enabled process improvements involving warehouse and transportation management platforms.

• Evaluate freight, warehousing, and distribution expenses and share recommendations that help control operating costs.

• Contribute to compliance, safety, and risk management efforts by monitoring operational practices and supporting disruption planning.

• Document procedures, share process updates, and communicate findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Requirements • Experience supporting logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations in an analytical or operational role.

• Strong ability to interpret data and turn findings into actionable operational recommendations.

• Proficiency with Excel and reporting tools, with working knowledge of SQL Server or similar data environments.

• Understanding of inventory control, freight operations, and distribution planning concepts.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to work across teams and manage stakeholder expectations.

• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

• Familiarity with process improvement practices such as Lean or Six Sigma is preferred.

• Exposure to warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, or enterprise platforms such as Oracle is a plus. TalentMatch®
