Thriving communities. Healthy cities. A brighter future. At Jacobs, we're helping clients solve complex transportation challenges and create more connected, sustainable communities. We're seeking a Senior-Level Transportation Planner to join our team in Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, Texas.

You'll help lead transportation planning projects ranging from multimodal corridor studies and regional transportation plans to strategic mobility and infrastructure initiatives. As a key member of our growing planning practice, you'll work directly with clients and stakeholders, serving as a trusted partner while helping identify opportunities to expand relationships and support continued business growth.

This role is ideal for a planner who enjoys both technical project delivery and client engagement as well as playing an active role in shaping the future of transportation across Texas.

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in planning, policy, engineering or related field

  • Professional planning certification (AICP)

  • Experience in transportation and land use planning, analysis, and studies

  • Experience in planning, land use, active transportation, transit, and/or multimodal corridors

  • Previous Metropolitan Planning Agency (MPO), Department of Transportation (DOT), County, or Municipal transportation project experience

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong client relationships, with the ability to establish credibility and serve as a trusted advisor to transportation agencies and project stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting business development activities, identifying client needs, and contributing to the pursuit and capture of new work.

  • Project management and leadership experience as a planner, task manager or possibly a project manager on transportation planning projects

  • Skilled in developing and delivering technical presentations to stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and/or the public

  • Advanced technical writing abilities

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience facilitating discussions and presenting complex information

  • Basic to advanced knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS applications (Pro and AGO), Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Microsoft Office and Project

  • Experience with Reporting and Data Visualization Tools such as Tableau or Power BI
