Job Description

Assists with equipment, system, line and valve installations; calibrates and maintain equipment related to pressure, measurement, and basic instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining regulator settings and relief valves, as well as installing and configuring large industrial meter sets or pressure monitoring sites.

  • Assist with installing, testing, calibrating, and/or maintaining gas measurement, regulation, and recording devices and equipment including but not limited to:

  • Chromatographs/ Sampling systems

  • Electronic odorization systems

  • Flow computers

  • Satellite equipment

  • Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system and remote terminal units and equipment

  • Pigging lines

  • Locating lines

  • Blowing drips

  • Changing charts

  • Filling odorant pots

  • Regulating gas flow and/or pressure

  • Monitoring dew points

  • Collecting gas samples

  • Conduct field tests and/or proving meters and modifications to regulators and reliefs.

  • Drive and maintain company vehicle.

  • Prepare and review applicable compliance reporting

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

  • Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

Highschool diploma required.

Experience

  • This role typically calls for two to four years of relevant experience; (Minimum of one-year relevant experience is required).

  • Proficient in basic use of computers, including Microsoft Suite as needed.

  • Working knowledge of regulation equipment installation and maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position.

  • Working knowledge in application of basic arithmetic:

  • addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).

  • Working knowledge and training relative to:

  • Company and governmental operating/safety procedures

  • Changing charts

  • Basic customer service activities

  • Characteristics of natural gas

  • Knowledge of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret internal and external mapping applications

  • work logs, job orders, consumption rates, charts, and operational and repair manuals.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Licenses and Certifications

Applicable driver's license

CDL preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 5-10 times a day; up to 30 pounds 5-10 times a day; over 50 pounds 3-5 times a day.

  • Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to:

  • Mud

  • Gravel

  • Sand

  • Rocks

  • Ice

  • Snow

  • Climb fences; walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and drive for extended periods.

  • React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.

  • Smell odorant in natural gas.

  • Detect and react to warning signals at work sites.

  • Able to operate tools and equipment required.

  • Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions including use of company two way radio.

  • Accurate depth perception.

  • Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
