Summary:

CED’s Management Training program is tailored to sales-minded candidates seeking management positions in an evolving industry. CED is a privately held company with more than 800 locations. Management Trainees are taught every aspect of CED’s business in order to take over management of a multi-million-dollar location upon completion of the training.

On-the-job training lasts for 2-2.5 years and includes development phases in warehouse, counter sales, business operations, purchasing, account management, project management, inventory management and business development. Throughout the program, trainees attend multiple sessions focused on electrical products, sales, and management.

While the position provides real on-the-job training, there is also online training related to electrical systems, sales, and management. No prior industry experience is necessary: we give you the tools needed to be successful with CED. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication skills, is geographically flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-faceted industry.

Starting locations: Dubuque, IA or Davenport, IA. Other locations may be available--please contact your recruiter if you have questions on locations.

Reports to: Training Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Bachelor’s Degree - will consider related experience in lieu of degree

• Current, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

• Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)

• Reliable transportation to and from work locations

• Ability to read and write effectively in English

• Ability and willingness to relocate during and upon completion of the program in Iowa, Nebraska, or western Illinois

Preferred Qualifications:

• Sales or customer service experience

• Experience working in a warehouse/blue collar work environment

• Leadership in a formal setting

• Business related bachelor's degree

Working Conditions:

• Conditions vary based on the trainee’s current segment of the training and will include warehouse, office, and external environments.

• During some segments, activities will include lifting, sorting, standing, and possible extreme heat/cold conditions.

• Office segments may include sitting for extended periods.

• Various segments will include some travel – both by car and by air.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is $61000 to $65000 annually.
