Function of Position:

Instructional Training Consultants prepare and teach courses in Workforce Development Training for non-credit basic supervisory skills training, business communication, customer service, and conflict management. This includes development of new educational materials, assessment of student learning, and delivery of instruction for supervisory skills. Classes are held both in-person at the downtown campus and/or online. Instructors report to the Director of Operations and the Manager, Corporate College. The successful candidate will bring a passion for teaching and a desire to support and mentor adult learners as they pursue their educational and career goals.

This is a temporary, part-time position

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledge.

  • Teaches courses and evaluates student performance in various non-credit Supervisory Skills trainings.

  • Teaches course(s)/section(s) as outlined by the contract and as available.

  • Prepares lesson plans and creates instructional materials and activities for student engagement.

  • Establishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environment.

  • Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other records according to department and College guidelines and submits them in a timely manner.

  • Assists the department with student evaluation gathering.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Business Analytics, and/or a certification in a related field, or related field experience from a regionally accredited higher education institution with 3 years' experience.

  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel and formulas.

  • Experience teaching, developing lesson plans, evaluating and assessing student outcomes.

  • Commitment to supporting an equitable, inclusive environment on campus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Education, Finance, Business Administration, or Business Analytics, and/or certification in a related field, or related field experience from a regionally accredited higher education institution with 3 years' experience.

  • Experience with computerized student record management

  • Experience teaching remotely using Zoom Meetings or MS Teams while maintaining an engaged learning experience.

  • Experience as an Adult Education Facilitator

  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Additional Information:

Hourly Rate: The hourly rate is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $50 - $90 hourly and is based on these factors.

Work Schedule: The schedule is dependent on course offerings and the number of non-credit instructional hours per course. Individual classes are normally no more than 3 or 4 hours in length and may run 2 or 3 sessions over a week or more.

The availability of flexible work arrangements varies by division, department, and position, based upon business and operational needs. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: The physical demands and working conditions described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This position involves primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods of computer use and keyboarding. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. The position may involve occasionally lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds. Work is performed in a typical office environment with no adverse conditions. Occasional travel between campus buildings or to other local or out-of-town locations for meetings or conferences may be required.

Prohibition of Remote Work Outside New York State: Remote work locations outside New York State are not authorized by the College due to out-of-state tax and regulatory implications. In limited circumstances, prompted by business or operational needs, the College may approve requests to work remotely outside of New York State, on a short-term, temporary basis.
