Full job description

Elevate Care is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Records Coordinator to join our team. This position oversees medical records management, ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain medical records in compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and state regulations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation, filing, and retrieval of patient records.

  • Conduct routine audits to verify record accuracy and completeness.

  • Train and oversee medical records staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to policies.

  • Respond to requests for medical records from authorized personnel while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support patient care and regulatory compliance.

  • Stay updated on changes in medical records regulations and implement necessary updates.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in medical records management within a healthcare or skilled nursing facility setting is preferred.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, Medicare/Medicaid requirements, and state guidelines.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and maintain confidentiality.
