Full job description
Company Description Snowbotix is advancing a future where robotics enhance human work rather than replace it, delivering safer, more efficient outdoor operations. The company’s modular, all-electric multi-utility robot platform handles snow removal, slope mowing, sweeping, and de-icing with zero emissions and a transparent, operations-focused cost model. Snowbotix supports municipal teams, contractors, and facilities managers who manage risk, safety, and uptime in challenging weather and outdoor conditions. Through a comprehensive Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, customers receive hardware, software, support, maintenance, 24/7 visibility, autonomous operation, and proof-of-service that strengthens liability protection and ESG performance. Guided by founder and robotics researcher Dr. Sasi Prabhakaran, the Snowbotix team brings together engineers, operators, and mission-driven problem solvers to create more sustainable and reliable outdoor infrastructure solutions. Role Description The Robotics Field Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Ypsilanti, MI, focused on deploying, operating, and supporting Snowbotix multi-utility robots in real-world environments. In this role, the specialist will set up and configure robotic systems at customer locations, perform routine inspections, and execute field diagnostics to keep equipment operating safely and effectively. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring robot performance, identifying and resolving technical issues, documenting service activities, and coordinating with engineering and operations teams to report field feedback. The specialist will interact directly with customers, provide on-site training and demonstrations, and support them in optimizing robot usage for snow removal, mowing, sweeping, and de-icing tasks. The role also involves adhering to safety procedures, maintaining tools and equipment, and contributing to continuous improvement of field processes and customer experience. Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data, diagnose field issues, and support continuous improvement.
- Clear and professional communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and engage with customers on-site.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, or software-related issues in robotic systems.
- Customer service skills to build trust, respond to concerns, and support customers in mission-critical operations.
- Training skills to guide customers and internal stakeholders in safe, effective robot operation and best practices.
- Experience working with robotics, automation, industrial equipment, or field service environments is highly beneficial.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on commercial or municipal properties.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment as needed, and to travel locally to customer sites from Ypsilanti, MI.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
