Summary

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W1U301 US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD.

Duties

  • Serves as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) for the Army Counterintelligence Command (ACIC) Field Office in Korea, providing mission management, subject matter expertise, technical oversight, and operational approval.
  • Develops, implements, and refines Counterintelligence (CI) missions in accordance with regional directives and strategies, and manages these missions from geographically dispersed locations.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with senior members of the Department of the Army, INSCOM, and other intelligence community (IC) agencies to facilitate understanding and cooperation on CI-related matters.
  • Equitably assigns work among employees, provides expert direction, and ensures subordinates receive the necessary training and experience to perform their assigned duties.
  • Evaluates employee performance, sets performance standards, provides counseling, and handles disciplinary actions, promotions, and award recommendations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes participating in intelligence strategic planning, influencing stakeholders to achieve objectives, and performing intelligence staff management functions to support counterintelligence operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG-13). This position requires a 2 year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 1, 15 May 2008). Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
