Possible areas of research include materials science, plasma-surface science, applications of plasma to quantum information science, manufacturing, and microelectronics. We anticipate that the successful candidate will establish a new group and laboratory at PPPL, largely in the PPIC, which is currently under construction and scheduled to be completed in 2027.The successful candidate will hold a tenured appointment in a relevant department at the University as well as an appointment as a Principal Scientist at PPPL. As PPPL is a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory, familiarity with DOE processes and a successful track record of DOE support are important considerations.Applications must be submitted online at https://apply.interfolio.com/193934 and should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a research statement, a teaching statement, and contact information for at least three, but no more than five references.
