Full job description
The multi-trillion dollar insurance industry still relies on phone calls, paper forms, and outdated systems that are slow, error-prone, and easy to fake. That’s where Axle comes in. We bridge the gap between insurance and other industries through an AI Native Clearinghouse for insurance, enabling our clients to make business decisions in seconds instead of hours while allowing consumers to unlock their most underutilized financial asset - insurance. About the role Axle is growing rapidly and looking for a full-time sales hunter to build and scale our Auto Lending business. This is a unique opportunity to shape Axle's auto finance go-to-market motion from the ground up. You'll bring deep knowledge of how auto lenders originate, service, and protect their loan portfolios - banks, credit unions, captive finance arms, and independent / specialty finance companies (e.g., OneMain) - along with strong relationships across the lending ecosystem and its technology partners (loan origination and servicing platforms, credit bureaus, and CPI / insurance-tracking providers). As a trusted advisor to Chief Lending Officers and heads of servicing, collateral risk, and operations, you'll show how Axle instantly verifies borrower insurance at origination and monitors coverage over the life of the loan - cutting operational cost, reducing uninsured collateral loss and force-placed / CPI friction, and creating a frictionless experience for borrowers. You'll also tap into Axle's channel and data partnerships (e.g., Equifax, Experian, MeridianLink) to accelerate adoption and scale impact across the industry. Finally, you will be a "doer" who is eager to roll up your sleeves and dive in to setting up a repeatable sales cycle. Why you should consider joining Axle?
-
Be the builder: First dedicated sales hire for Axle's Auto Lending business, with the opportunity to help drive significant scale.
-
Trusted relationships, real impact: Work directly with executives at the largest auto lenders, banks, credit unions, and captive finance companies.
-
Cutting-edge technology: Transform workflows with API-driven, AI-enabled solutions.
-
Winning culture: Join a fast-moving, ambitious team that loves competing and building together.
Impact
-
Build and execute Axle's Auto Lending sales playbook from the ground up.
-
Build and nurture C-level relationships across auto lenders, banks, credit unions, captive finance companies, and lending ecosystem partners.
-
Act as a trusted advisor, guiding lending leaders on the risk and cost levers across origination, servicing, collateral protection, and portfolio monitoring.
-
Drive rapid growth through a mix of direct sales and co-selling with Axle's data and platform partners (e.g., Equifax, Experian, LOS providers).
-
Deliver compelling demos and consultative business cases that quantify Axle's impact on loss ratios, verification cost, and operational efficiency.
-
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver tailored solutions and ensure successful onboarding.
-
Translate customer insights into product feedback to help shape Axle's auto lending roadmap.
What would set you up for success?
-
8 - 10+ years of SaaS, fintech, or data sales experience selling into auto finance / consumer lending (banks, credit unions, captive and independent finance companies).
-
Deep familiarity with loan origination and servicing systems (e.g., DealerTrack, RouteOne, Origence, MeridianLink, defi SOLUTIONS) and credit / data bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion).
-
Track record of President’s Club or top sales awards at previous companies and the willingness to take a sales organization.
-
Proven ability to build and maintain senior relationships across auto lenders, banks, credit unions, and captive finance companies.
-
Strong consultative sales skills, with a history of serving as a trusted advisor to executives.
-
Strong solution selling skills, with identifying customer gain points and knowing when the product can or can't help them
-
Clear understanding of auto lending operations and economics - origination, servicing, collateral protection (CPI / force-placed insurance), and insurance tracking.
-
Entrepreneurial builder with a process mindset; thrives in early-stage, fast-growth environments. This includes being process-oriented enough to track your progress and achieve results through the full sales stack (e.g., building a pipeline, finding leads, qualifying leads, selling, closing, etc.)
-
Ability to work cross-functionally to understand customers, identify feature gaps, and work with our product and solution teams to prioritize them.
-
Early adopter of AI sales tools and excited to learn / develop more skills.
Even better if…
-
12-15+ years selling into auto lenders, banks, credit unions, captive finance companies, or insurers
-
Deep relationships with executives across the top US auto lenders and finance companies
-
Prior success introducing new technology categories into the auto finance / lending ecosystem.
