Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our team as a Maintenance Apprentice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hands-on work, an interest in problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting, and a commitment to providing quality customer service while ensuring the comfort and safety of our residents. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and skill development within the residential maintenance field.
Essential Job Functions

Routine Maintenance: Perform basic routine inspections of buildings to identify and address maintenance issues. Assist in conducting preventive maintenance tasks, such as simple HVAC system checks, filter replacements, and equipment lubrication. Learn and apply foundational maintenance procedures under supervision.

Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and assist in repairing basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues in residential units. Address minor appliance malfunctions with guidance

Groundskeeping: Support in maintaining the exterior appearance of residential properties, including basic landscaping, lawn care, and occasional snow removal. Assist in ensuring proper disposal of trash and debris from common areas.

Documentation and Reporting: Learn to keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Communicate effectively with property management regarding completed tasks and ongoing projects.

Customer Service: Interact professionally with residents under supervision and address their maintenance concerns in a timely manner.

Learning and skill development: Participate in learning activities (including online, shadowing, classroom, etc,) as a part of gaining skills and knowledge related to on-site maintenance activities.
Education
This position requires a(n) High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
Below is the required/preferred work experience for this position:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Computer and smart phone literacy required. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, for all work-related responsibilities. Multilingual skills are a plus.
Compensation
Commensurate with Experience
$20.87 - 29.21 hourly
