Description
Summary:
Partner with community organizations to establish and facilitate opportunities to conduct vision screenings, offer products for independent living, share various community resources and educational materials for and regarding individuals with vision loss. Provide outreach for all CABVI services focused on targeted underserved communities. Responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining Information Services listener and listener contact relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Community Education and Screenings

Provide outreach to community centers, senior facilities, and other key community organizations to build collaborative connections in order to educate individuals and groups about CABVI services.

Partner with community organizations to establish and facilitate opportunities for education for and regarding individuals with vision loss. Providing outreaches for all services focused in targeted underserved communities.

Coordinate, facilitate and participate in community activities utilizing the CABVI Vision Resource Van to provide vision screenings, offer products for independent living, and share resources.

Collaboratively plan and offer other events and programming to increase awareness of services in the community, in partnership with CABVI Community Relations team.

Maintain up to date documentation for client records, community interaction, and master calendar for scheduled activities.
Support Community Relations Events

Assist with set-up and facilitation of events to engage community organizations, volunteers, and clients

Coordinate volunteers to assemble outgoing newsletters and other CABVI marketing materials

Deliver outbound mailing in a timely and efficient manner to designated facility
Serve as primary point of contact for listeners referred to the Talking Book services.

Process Talking Book applications from staff referrals to the state Library for the Blind.

Maintain Talking Book data and documentation.
Supports Radio Reading Services (RRS) with various functions.

Coordinates delivery of RRS radios, Amazon Echo receivers, and other devices.

Assists listeners with applications for services and other needs.

Prepare radio and/or Amazon Echo (Alexa) devices to be shipped to clients.

Drive to homes to install Alexa devices – Install in home as needed.

Handle all listener and listener contact needs such as technology questions, returns, exchanges, or other questions.

Provide consistent follow-up with new and ongoing listeners.

Build and maintain relationships with listener contacts, including long-term care facilities.
Supports Volunteer Services Supervisor.
- Assists with Volunteer groups as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Associates Degree in Human Service Field highly preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of work experience with experience in outreach, public health, community development and/or community engagement
-
Non-profit experience preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
-
Creative individual with strong communication and networking skills.
-
Preference given to candidates with experience working with persons who are blind or visually impaired.
-
Valid driver’s license to drive agency van. Ability to drive and navigate service territory. Significant time will be spent utilizing agency van within the community.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Able to lift 40lbs. for event set ups.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Office 365, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
