About the organization: Compass Family Services is a 100+ year old nonprofit working on the front lines of San Francisco's homeless crisis. We provide families experiencing or at risk of homelessness with comprehensive support to address immediate needs and ensure long-term success.
About the team: Compass Urgent Accommodation Voucher program provides temporary emergency hotel rooms for families and pregnant people in crisis. In addition to a hotel room, the program helps families connect with services and a path to stable housing.
Compensation: $29-31 hourly, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:
The Operations Assistant supports the Program Director and team in managing daily tasks of the Compass UAV Program. This includes administrative work, client interactions, data entry, package delivery, and a wide variety of other jobs. The role requires a high degree of flexibility and willingness to step in to support the team wherever there are gaps or additional needs.
Specific responsibilities include:

Client Reception & Referral: Manage main phone lines and voicemails, check in clients, schedule appointments, and direct ineligible callers to external community resources.

Data Management & Compliance: Track intakes, services, and interventions in databases while conducting Quality Improvement checks to maintain funder compliance.

Logistics & Distribution: Deliver packages to hotels, pack food bags, manage supply orders, and organize incoming deliveries.

Property & Operations Coordination: Liaise with hotel partners on maintenance and deliveries, disseminate client room materials, and coordinate staff transportation via Lyft.

Administrative & Team Support: Maintain the master program calendar, record meeting minutes, assist with resource research, and provide general support to cover team gaps.

Compensation and Benefits:
-
Salary range: $29 - $31 per hour based on a 37.5 hour work week. Non-exempt.

Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation your first year, 5 in your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave.

Insurance: health, dental and vision insurance are fully covered by Compass for employees and dependent children. We also provide long term disability and life insurance.

Retirement: after one year of work, Compass contributes an amount equal to 5% of your salary into a retirement account; this vests over years 2-6.
