Summary

If selected you will be responsible for support services functions: facility management, space management, on-site safety and health, security administration, conference management, procurement of equipment and supplies for a USDA Hub location or Business Site.

Duties

  • The duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides expert advise, guidance, and counsel to the agency’s senior managers at the site regarding planning, delivery, and innovation of the administrative support services program.
  • Oversight or liaison for property management and maintenance programs, directs on-site conference management services.
  • Oversees or managing front-desk reception protocols, printing/copier management services, mail/shipping/receiving, equipment and supplies and budget.
  • Advisory and liaison with respect to administrative policies in the implementation of the regional facility support services program.
  • Ensures the establishment of the facility Occupant Emergency Plans.
  • Serves as the Agency’s liaison on matters pertaining to facility management with General Services Administration(GSA), other federal agencies, or building owner.
  • Performs the full range of supervisory and managerial responsibilities including but not limited to personnel, performance, planning and budget.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Three years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4. General experience is experience that involved dealing with others in person-to-person work situations, in obtaining and providing a variety of services for an organization, or other work that demonstrated the ability to perform successfully the work of the position to be filled. OR Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university. In Addition to the basic requirement above, you must meet: FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Project management experience including space management, facility management, conference and events. Ensure compliance of space design and use as well as resolving challenges relating to space design, workspace assignments, and room use. Formulate and implement program administrative activities to include assigning responsibilities for administrative support services and operations. Note: There is no education substitution for this GS 13 specialized experience level requirement. TRANSCRIPTS are required if: You are qualifying for the position based on education. You are qualifying for this position based on a combination of experience and education This education must have been successfully completed and obtained from an accredited school, college, or university. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
