Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle's electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. Seattle City Light is recruiting for a Senior Management Systems Analysts to provide ongoing business and systems support for customer-facing technologies within the Customer Technologies group. This position is part of the CIS Operations Team, which manages Seattle City Light’s core customer information systems including Oracle CCB, MSCS (metering system), the USW Customer Portal, and all related interfaces and integrations. The analyst will report to the CIS Operations Manager and work collaboratively with teams across Seattle City Light, Seattle Public Utilities (SPU), and IT. This position reports to the CIS Operations Manager.

Here is more about what you’ll be doing:

  • Perform system design, analysis and continued development of technology projects involving considerable scope, complexity
  • Identify, document and communicate business needs to Business Owners and Management
  • Develop work plans and goals for technology projects based on departmental objectives and priorities
  • Lead end user groups in the design, development, implementation and modification of systems
  • Create procedures and train end users on new system functionality and enhancements
  • Assess policy or rule changes to determine impacts on business processes and configuration
  • Participate in solution analysis and design for project scope and requirements
  • Identify and recommend improvements to processes, policies, or procedures
  • Configure, test and implement business system solutions
  • Provide support to impacted workgroups to resolve issues, answer questions; clarify system processes

Required Qualifications: In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has: Requires three years of experience in systems, operations, procedures, research or analysis and a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).   • Specialized knowledge and expertise with utility business processes
  • Experience in working with the USW Customer portal
  • Experience with SQL, CCB & MSCS.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • A strong team-focused mindset
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Experience creating clear, concise root-cause analysis documentation
  • Experience in developing procedures
