Job Description

Responsibilities

Performs registration in computerized systems, with a high level of computer experience. Performs pre-registration, enters date-of-service upon patient arrival and arrives patient in EMR. Obtains current demographic and insurance information at each patient encounter, verifies information is correctly entered into all systems. Obtains payment from patients per Norton Healthcare collection policy. Sends missed appointment letter to patients. Has knowledge of insurance carriers. Secures referrals to PCP or specialist if needed. Schedules patient appointments in electronic scheduling system. Schedules diagnostic tests and consults. Secures precerts/authorizations for diagnostic tests and admissions/transfers. Answers in-coming telephone calls, prioritizes and routes appropriately. Takes complete telephone messages, prioritizes and routes appropriately. Provides callers with exceptional customer service with telephone interactions. Coordinates incoming and outgoing correspondence. Files appropriately in patient chart. Assists with chart preparation.
