Full job description
About Hearth Hearth is the AI growth system for local home improvement small businesses. We build revenue-critical software for home improvement contractors — the roofers, HVAC techs, and builders who keep America running.
Our platform helps real business owners win more jobs, protect profit margins, and manage homeowner relationships professionally so they can build generational companies for their families and communities.
We are now building the next layer: a personal AI employee for every small business in the trades focused on autonomously generating sales for America’s home improvement pros. An assistant who answers every call 24/7, qualifies leads, books appointments, follows up on quotes and estimates, and helps small business owners go from missing half of their business to capturing all of it.
With 15,000+ paying customers, default profitability, and backing from some of the world’s best investors (Founder’s Fund, 8VC, Human Capital, etc.), Hearth is focused on bringing AI to the trades.
The Opportunity You built something real in college. Now every job listing wants you to spend three years earning permission to matter. Skip that.
Hearth is the AI growth system for local home-improvement contractors. Over 50% of these businesses go under without software like Hearth, and when you ship a system that works, a roofer stops losing 40% of his inbound calls and gets home for dinner. The loop between your work and someone's livelihood is short.
We're rebuilding how a profitable, 15,000-customer company runs its revenue, with AI at the center of every motion: lead scoring in production, agents doing rep busywork, one data backbone under all of it. GTM engineering is the team doing the rebuilding, and this seat puts you on it from day one. Not shadowing, not ticket triage: real pieces of the machine, working directly with the VP of Revenue who owns the function, and your work measured against revenue from week one. You came out of school building with tools most companies are still writing policies about.
What You've Done:
- You've already built things people actually used. A side project with real users, a tool your club or internship team ran on, an agent that stayed alive after you stopped babysitting it. The degree matters less than what you shipped outside the syllabus.
- You build with AI as the default. You live in Claude Code (or whatever's best) and use it to build things your resume alone wouldn't predict. What was prompts and personas last year is full apps now, and you moved with it. Python and SQL where they help. Show us what you shipped.
- You're hungry. You want your work measured, you want scope faster than a title track hands it out, and feedback from people who've done this longer makes you better every week.
You don't need to know Salesforce, HubSpot, or our stack. You need to close gaps in days, not months. If you want a syllabus instead of a scoreboard, this isn't the seat.
Why This Role: Every company says it's becoming AI-first. Almost none let a new grad build the systems that make it true. This one does, because we'd rather bet on what you shipped than on your years. Come build the machine.
We're hiring for this team at multiple levels. Apply to the listing that fits; we level the seat to the person, so if you're stronger than the title, we'll figure that out together.
Location This role will be located in NYC along with the rest of the technical Hearth team, the CEO, and other key roles in the business. Hearth believes in the energy, connection, and serendipity of in-person/hybrid work culture (3+ days/week) for builders who are committed to building truly innovative software and making a significant positive impact in the world.
Benefits
- Mission-driven, values-based culture.
- Competitive pay.
- Unmatched opportunities to learn and develop; front-row seat at a fast-growing tech startup
- Generous PTO, plus paid company holidays.
- Stock options.
- Medical, dental, and vision options.
- 401(k)
- Free Employee Assistance Program
- Parental Leave Program
- Pet Insurance
