Job Description
A thorough knowledge of AutoCAD with at least one year of drafting and one year of experience using an AutoCAD drafting system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; five years of education and/or training beyond high school in Geography, GIS, Cartography or a related technical field. Five years of experience with ESRI GIS is preferred. Must have strong mathematical skills and proficiency in computer software programs (e.g., AutoCAD) with the ability to accurately use drafting instruments. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Candidate must have strong analytical and technical skills. Proficient in Microsoft 365.
This position is responsible for collecting, editing, processing, and maintaining complex ESRI GIS datasets from multiple sources to ensure accurate information and mapping support for the Energy Control Center, Engineering, Operations field crews, and power plants. Duties will include importing, exporting, and converting mapping data into the GIS platform; creating and maintaining geospatial database; and querying SQL databases for relevant data and information. Responsible for preparing accurate substation prints, engineering designs and evaluations using established procedures and methods, including the completion of detailed forms and the drafting of construction standards, specifications, and related materials.
