Travel to Holly Springs, Alpharetta & Roswell Required! Clinics are open M-F (7:00am - 5:30pm)

Join our team as a Patient Services Representative for our Rehab department, where you’ll be the first point of contact for our patients, delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of our front office. This role involves pre-registration and registration of new patients, scheduling appointments, and providing essential clerical support. You’ll be cross-trained in all front desk functions to ensure seamless operations.

As a compassionate and empathetic advocate for our patients, you’ll gather accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information necessary for billing and collections. You will also conduct thorough screenings for workers’ compensation, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care patients, ensuring compliance with pre-certification and eligibility requirements.

Core Responsibilities: Customer Service Excellence:

  • Greet patients and visitors with a warm, professional demeanor.
  • Manage incoming calls and route them to the appropriate parties.
  • Assist physicians and their staff to expedite scheduling and pre-registration processes.

Registration & Insurance Management:

  • Interview patients to gather complete demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy in the registration system.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, clearly communicating details to patients.
  • Coordinate the collection of estimated patient liabilities and co-payments.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Prepare patient charts and maintain organized documentation.
  • Handle cash and receipts in accordance with WellStar policies, ensuring accurate end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA regulations.

Data Tracking & Reporting:

  • Track and report financial and clinical statistics as required.
  • Utilize EPIC and OP Rehab EMR systems for patient management and billing processes.
  • Assist in troubleshooting any registration interface issues with IT.

Collaborative Support:

  • Work effectively with co-workers and management to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Maintain educational records and document departmental meetings as needed.

Qualifications: Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare setting with front office responsibilities, including insurance verification.

Skills:

  • Proficient in typing and data entry.
  • Strong understanding of insurance terminology, pre-certification processes, and medical terminology (ICD-10 knowledge preferred).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and routine office equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism in interaction
