Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an IT Security Engineer for a leading research and data-driven organization. This individual will serve as a key contributor to the cybersecurity team, focusing heavily on enterprise vulnerability management, security monitoring, and endpoint protection. The engineer will leverage tools such as Qualys, Rapid7 InsightIDR, Sumo Logic, and SentinelOne to identify, assess, prioritize, and remediate security risks across infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, and externally facing systems. This role will also support threat detection, incident response, SIEM optimization, security engineering initiatives, compliance efforts, and automation opportunities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on cybersecurity professional with deep vulnerability management expertise, strong security operations experience, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of cybersecurity, security engineering, vulnerability management, security operations, or related experience Enterprise vulnerability management and vulnerability scanning experience Hands-on experience with Qualys or comparable vulnerability management platforms Experience configuring and managing vulnerability scans across complex enterprise environments Experience analyzing vulnerability findings and driving remediation efforts Experience with SIEM technologies and security event investigations Experience with EDR/XDR technologies Strong understanding of: CVSS scoring and vulnerability prioritization Security vulnerabilities, attack techniques, malware, and threat vectors Windows and Linux operating systems Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, ports, protocols, routing, segmentation) Cloud security concepts Ability to communicate technical security findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience Qualys VMDR experience Qualys Web Application Scanning experience Rapid7 InsightIDR administration/support Sumo Logic SIEM experience SentinelOne XDR administration and monitoring Threat hunting experience Experience building SIEM detections, dashboards, queries, and correlation rules Experience with enterprise vulnerability remediation programs Experience supporting FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, or regulated environments PowerShell, Python, API, or security automation experience Security certifications: CISSP SecurityCySAGSEC GIAC certifications Qualys certifications SentinelOne certifications
