Job Description
The Manager of Strategic Initiatives and Planning, in Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, will be an analytical leader with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with various offices and constituents across the Division and Institution. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Manager will be responsible for maintaining, documenting, and assessing a portfolio of new and existing strategic initiatives across the Division. This will include project and grant management, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
A Presidential Proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on all new H‑1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025, and Texas A&M University–Central Texas will not pay this fee. Additionally, a moratorium issued by Governor Abbott on January 27, 2026, restricts the filing of new H‑1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. Accordingly, if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project and Grant Management

Oversees complex projects and initiatives including developing detailed project/initiative plans, monitoring progress, conducting research, performing analysis, producing reports, and providing recommendations to division leadership.

Evaluates grant opportunities for congruence with institutional goals; prepares grant proposals and applications to secure funding for university priorities in enrollment and student affairs. Ensure post award activities and reporting are completed.

Serves as the divisional project manager for division and institution-wide initiatives sponsored by Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, supporting projects related to enrollment, retention, student success, and infrastructural improvements through all phases.

Provides guidance and support to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs on strategic initiatives.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement

Assist with the development, implementation, and assessment of the institution’s Strategic Enrollment Plan and associated initiatives/activities.

Collaborate with members of the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs leadership team to identify and implement regular and annual continuous improvements to division services and processes. Consult with various departments about the implications of changes.

Supports workflow optimization and process documentation across student affairs and enrollment-related operations, fostering efficiency, consistency, and transparency throughout the division. Coordinates with department heads in the implementation of change.
Data Analysis and Reporting

Coordinates with Institutional Data and Reporting, Information Technology, and university stakeholders to identify and obtain data necessary to develop metrics to evaluate effectiveness of department efforts. Produces relevant research, information, and reports to support the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.

Synthesizes complex data and operational findings into coherent insights and actionable recommendations for leadership, facilitating data-informed strategic decisions.

Prepares reports, summaries, and dashboards that succinctly highlight project progress, risk factors, and performance metrics to drive informed decision-making.
Management

Supervise personnel in accordance with university policies and applicable laws including training, evaluation, reward and discipline, and address and resolve problems. Lead staff meetings, share information, and promote development of ideas for improvement of service and efficiency. Assist staff in developing professional goals and objectives. Foster a collaborative working evening that promotes teamwork.

Manage accounts and budgets for department operations and grant programs in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and grant terms.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.

Effectively manage business process needs between end-users, systems analysts, and programmers is preferred.

Manage details associated with the implementation of complex policies and procedures is preferred.

Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills is required.

Effectively manage budgets and grant requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-
Five years of related experience.
Salary: $61,012.00
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Nights and weekends as needed.
Supervision of Others: This position does supervise employees.
Work Location: This is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
