Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract opportunity with a company based in Georgia. This is a remote role ideal for an accounting professional with strong NetSuite experience who can step in immediately and provide hands-on support following a recent system implementation. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently, adapting to a changing environment, and supporting core accounting operations while helping improve system and workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general staff accountant duties, including preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting daily accounting operations

• Assist with month-end close and year-end accounting activities

• Prepare and complete account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other transactional accounting functions as needed

• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting documentation

• Help with financial reporting and analysis for management review

• Provide immediate support to the accounting team following a recent NetSuite implementation

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within NetSuite and accounting workflows

• Assist with implementing more efficient processes, controls, and system usage best practices

• Work independently to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

• Provide hands-on accounting support wherever needed to help stabilize and strengthen team operations

Requirements

Required :

• Strong, recent NetSuite experience is required Ability to step in immediately and support a team after a system implementation

• Experience with month-end close, year-end activities, and account reconciliations

• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and staff accountant responsibilities

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfortable in a changing environment and willing to provide hands-on support

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred :

• Experience supporting an accounting team during or after an ERP implementation

• Prior remote work experience

• Experience improving accounting processes and system workflows
