Overview

Are you ready to help shape one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas? Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join our Municipal team in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure and public works projects while partnering with local government clients and multidisciplinary teams. In this role, you'll work at the forefront of municipal engineering, partnering with local governments, utility agencies, developers, and community stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions for roadway improvements, drainage systems, water and wastewater infrastructure, public works facilities, and community development projects. The position offers the opportunity to guide projects from concept through construction while mentoring emerging engineers and helping drive strategic growth within the municipal practice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations for water, sanitary, drainage, and road designs.

  • Lead design tasks with EITs, designers, and technicians.

  • Produce submittal ready package with plans, specifications, estimates, and applications to governmental and private entities.

  • Coordinate with public and private utilities.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines.

  • Produce exhibits with proposed design and existing infrastructure to present to clients.

  • Attend design meetings and construction site visits.

  • Assist Project Manager with tracking project cost and schedules.

  • Manage multiple deadlines with competing timelines.

  • Prepare/review opinion of probable construction costs (OPCC).

  • Calculate pipe capacity, storm water flows, street, water and sanitary sewer design.

  • Produce construction-ready plans.

  • Review and interpret prepared survey drawings/data.

  • Interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

  • Professional Engineer license (P.E.).

  • 5+ years of experience designing road, waterlines, sanitary sewer, and drainage facilities.

  • Proficient in design with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.

  • Knowledge of local city, county, and state land use processes and regulations.

  • Bluebeam proficient, preferred.

  • Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development-related designs, preferred.

  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
