Job Description

Participates and assists in research and academic activities. Collaborates with all members of the research program as well as nursing, physician, house staff, and ancillary staff related to academic activities of the department.

Job Responsibility

  • Participates in research activities; assists the research team in identifying appropriate potential candidates for research protocols and preparation of research documents.

  • Interfaces and collaborates with the Medical Records and the auxiliary department as necessary.

  • Retrieves academic/research articles from library; maintains organized filing of documents.

  • Liaises between the department and other Institutional staff, as appropriate.

  • Supports staff in preparing for academic/research meetings and presentations including coordination with other departments.

  • Assists in the drafting of research proposals; facilitates mass mailing of research documents/letters, as appropriate.

  • Performs literature searches as necessary.

  • Acts as a liaison between researchers and the medical library personnel; interfaces and collaborates with members of the healthcare team.

  • Interacts with departments and staff.

Additional information about the position and department:

BOOST (https://zucker.northwell.edu/find-care/boost-program) is a clinical program at Zucker Hillside Hospital aimed at providing ongoing outpatient care to individuals with schizophrenia spectrum diagnoses. The Recovery Advocate/Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) Role is a unique, grant-funded position in the program. The CRA is involved with participants from the very beginning of their care at BOOST, facilitating an initial orientation session and helping them set recovery goals upon intake into the program. The CRA also helps with maintaining participant engagement through outreach; administering outcomes assessments (and managing a database of assessment data); running social and recreational activities such as our weekly games and activities group called Social BOOST; organizing special events such as movie nights, seasonal outings, game tournaments, etc.; other community outreach; and other responsibilities.

Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field, strongly preferred

  • Interest in pursuing a career in mental health treatment, preferred

  • Some experience in a clinical or research environment, preferred

When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $39290.00-$59800.00/year
