A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of a Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

  • Arrive at work in the morning- no night shifts here!

  • Provide patient assessments, vital signs, and symptom evaluation for radiation oncology patients.

  • Educate patients and their families on radiation therapy and side effects.

  • Perform and support on-treatment visits.

  • Assist with monitoring and managing treatment-related side effects with Radiation Oncologist support.

  • Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Triage patient calls and EMR messages.

  • Assist with procedures and medication administration.

  • Coordinate imaging and lab testing.

  • Document accurately in the EMR.

  • Maintain a safe and organized environment.

This job might be for you if…

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Required Licenses

  • Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

  • State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certification is required (must be able to obtain within 60 days of hire).
