Job Duties
Start Date: 11/15/2026
End Date: 03/15/2027
Work hours: 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Job Duties:
Prepare calving facility. Calve out calves during the calving season. Medicate, vaccinate and treat for seasonal sicknesses. Care for newborn calves and nursing mothers during the winter period when they require additional care due to fluctuating temperatures and seasonal sicknesses. Feed cattle during snowy/subfreezing periods when no seasonal pasturelands remain available for them to naturally graze upon. Add dry bedding. Remove snow from farm property. Break ice formation in water tanks daily. Fix, build and repair fencing damaged by drifting snow. Basic farm maintenance duties such as equipment servicing and shop work.
Minimum Education Required
None. No High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience Required
Must have at least 2 months experience.
Must have or be able to obtain a Class D driver's license in 30 days.
Clean driving record required.

$15.63 / Hourly
Additional Compensation
At the employer's sole discretion, applicants may be offered higher than the advertised wage or possibly an end-of-season bonus, due to factors including experience, merit, attendance, attitude, and/or skill.
As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits
EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
