Demonstrates good communication skills respectfully and courteously when interacting with patients, co-workers, physicians, and colleagues within the department. Collaborates with on-call Physicians to monitor utilization of resources to deliver quality care in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Communicates information to patients, families, other providers, and service representatives. Maintains efficiency in patient work-up flow and triage responsibilities. Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with Hospital guidelines and regulatory requirements. Participates in ongoing staff development and serves as a mentor and advisor to new team members. Maintains accurate, legible documentation of patient medications, messages, sample meds, and pharmacy documentation. Keeps current with new technology and updates on care and medications. Schedules follow-up appointments using Physician Group Systems for patients after delivery and during the post-op period according to discharge instructions. Obtains discharge summaries from all ED and hospitalizations as necessary for physicians and contacts patients with follow-up calls within 2 days of discharge for high-risk patients. Contributes to the growth of the practice by managing patient flow and recommending follow-up visits if needed. Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
