Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties
- You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST for the Code 1043 Cybersecurity Branch of Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD).
- You will be responsible for the implementation and administration of the Cybersecurity Program across the Division.
- You will be responsible for supporting the Command Information Officer (CIO), Deputy Command Information Officer (DCIO), Commanding Officer (CO), and Technical Director (TD) on all cybersecurity related issues.
- You will be responsible for the execution of the Cybersecurity Program and Assessment and Authorization (AA) process.
- You will provide technical advice and guidance on a wide variety of AA processes, guidance, documentation, and review of authority to operate (ATO) documents to confirm that the level of risk is within acceptable limits.
- You will assist in managing and executing an effective Cybersecurity Program including providing technical advice and guidance on a wide variety of Cyber Workforce personnel matters.
- You will make assignments, set and adjust short-term priorities, goals, and objectives, and provide guidance on work or administrative issues to ensure completion of work for the branch.
- You will develop performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, undertake performance corrective actions, identify and recommend developmental and training needs for the branch.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/GS-12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing leadership for the implementation and administration of cybersecurity policies and procedures for an organization. Examples of qualifying experience include: (1) applying expert knowledge of Federal, DoD, and DoN IA/Cybersecurity policy and regulation; (2) experience managing a Cybersecurity program; (3) analyzing business and technical requirements of components, systems, and/or networks to evaluate risk and make recommendations regarding security compliance. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level of NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. Federal annuitant information: The selection of an annuitant is subject to the Department of Defense and Department of the Navy policy on the employment of annuitants. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position.
