Job Description
Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to join their growing team and support the design, deployment, optimization, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure for a diverse customer base. This individual will be responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable networking solutions across campus, branch, wireless, and data center environments. The Network Engineer will serve as a hands-on technical resource, partnering directly with customers to architect solutions, lead implementations, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive network modernization initiatives.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing enterprise network solutions utilizing technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Extreme Networks, Fortinet, and Palo Alto; developing network architectures and technical documentation; leading deployment projects involving routing and switching, wireless networking, firewalls, data center infrastructure, fiber backbone installations, and structured cabling; performing equipment configuration, provisioning, testing, and implementation activities; troubleshooting Layer 1 through Layer 7 network issues; responding to critical incidents and conducting root cause analysis; monitoring and improving network performance, security, and reliability; supporting maintenance windows and infrastructure migrations; and collaborating with customers, vendors, project managers, and internal teams throughout project lifecycles.
This role will also contribute to automation and operational efficiency by leveraging tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, REST APIs, and Git to streamline deployments, improve processes, and enhance standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with customers, solving complex technical challenges, and delivering innovative solutions that improve network performance, security, scalability, and business outcomes.
Salary: $120,000-$140,000
Skills and Requirements
5+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Operations, Systems Engineering, or a related infrastructure role.
Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments.
Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and IPv6.
Hands-on experience with enterprise wireless networking, WLAN design, RF fundamentals, site surveys, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
Experience supporting network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, network segmentation, and security policies.
Experience with at least one of the following platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Extreme Networks, Fortinet, or Palo Alto.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues across Layer 1 through Layer 7.
Experience working directly with customers in a technical consulting, engineering, or support capacity.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with network automation or scripting using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, REST APIs, or Git.
Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
