Job Description

The Ramp Engineer is responsible for coordinating and supporting semiconductor tool installations, upgrades, decommissions, and ramp activities within the fab. This role acts as the link between tool owners, equipment vendors, construction teams, EHS, and facility groups to ensure tools are installed safely, correctly, and on schedule. While heavily focused on project coordination and execution, the position also requires hands-on involvement with tool installs, demos, utility turn-ons, and equipment readiness activities. The ideal candidate has strong semiconductor tool installation experience, understands fab operations, and can effectively manage vendor relationships, schedules, and field execution for Film, CMP/Polish, Clean, or similar process tools.

Skills and Requirements

  • 4+ years of semiconductor tool installation experience
  • Experience supporting tool installs, upgrades, or decommissions in a fab
  • Experience with CMP Polish or CVD/PVD process tools
  • Experience working with equipment vendors and installation teams
  • Ability to read and interpret installation drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of installation sequencing and utility requirements
  • Strong safety mindset and experience working around hazardous systems
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and driving schedules
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to be hands-on during installs
  • Previous Ramp Engineer experience
  • Field Service Engineer (FSE) background supporting semiconductor tools
  • Experience with AMAT, LAM, TEL, or Abara equipment
  • Experience supporting tool demos and decommissioning projects
  • Experience with utility turn-ons, gas systems, pumps, and abatement systems
  • P6 (Primavera) scheduling experience or Microsoft Project experience
  • Experience supporting facility upgrades or large fab expansion projects
  • Previous experience coordinating rigging and tool moves
  • Understanding of EHS testing, interlocks, leak checks, and commissioning activities
