A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Marketing Coordinator is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for translating Valmont Telecom’s business and growth priorities into effective marketing programs, product launches, digital campaigns, sales enablement tools, and customer engagement initiatives. This role partners closely with Sales, Product Line Management, Business Development, Engineering, Operations, and other stakeholders to develop compelling content, strengthen market awareness, support customer acquisition, and increase adoption of Valmont products and solutions. The position also coordinates trade shows and customer events, supports digital and e-commerce initiatives, analyzes sales and marketing information, manages promotional resources, and develops training materials for sales teams, agents, and dealers. Success in this role requires strong project leadership, business judgment, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities from strategy through execution.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with Sales, Product Line Management (PLM), Business Development, Engineering, and Operations leaders to align marketing initiatives with Telecom business objectives, revenue targets, customer acquisition goals, and strategic growth priorities.

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, events, industry publications, trade associations, and customer-facing channels to increase brand awareness, lead generation, and market share.

  • Drive market adoption of new products and solutions through coordinated launch plans, customer education programs, technical marketing materials, webinars, product demonstrations, and sales enablement initiatives.

  • Lead the assessment, development, and execution of e-commerce and digital customer engagement strategies, including identifying market opportunities, defining platform requirements, and driving the development and optimization of online commerce capabilities. Support customers through improved access to product information, digital tools, configuration resources, and self-service ordering platforms.

  • Support strategic account initiatives by developing customer-specific marketing programs, value propositions, case studies, and success stories that strengthen relationships with key customers such as wireless carriers, tower companies, distributors, and broadband service providers.

  • Oversee the development of marketing communications, product collateral, customer presentations, technical content, videos, case studies, installation highlights, customer success stories, bid support materials, and sales enablement tools.

  • Manage digital marketing activities including website content, social media engagement, email marketing campaigns, lead generation programs, and marketing automation efforts that support customer acquisition and pipeline growth.

  • Plan and manage Valmont Telecom's participation in industry trade shows, conferences, customer events, distributor meetings, and association activities including NATE, WIA, UTC, Fiber Connect, and other relevant industry organizations.

  • Develop and maintain market segmentation strategies, customer databases, and targeted marketing programs that improve sales effectiveness and customer engagement across all Telecom channels.

  • Support Salesforce CRM adoption and customer data initiatives by partnering with Sales Operations to improve lead management, customer insights, pipeline visibility, and marketing effectiveness.

  • Manage the Telecom marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support growth initiatives, strategic priorities, customer engagement activities, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Lead the development of annual marketing plans that support Telecom revenue growth, market share expansion, customer retention, product adoption, and strategic business objectives across North America.

  • This position reports into the VP Sales and has no direct reports.

  • This role requires up to 15% travel including overnight stays.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree with three or more years of relevant experience; associate degree with five or more years of relevant experience; or seven or more years of relevant experience in place of a degree.

  • Relevant experience in marketing, advertising, digital marketing, product marketing, pricing, sales support, market research, product management, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, events, email, social media, industry publications, and customer-facing channels.

  • Experience supporting product or solution launches through coordinated marketing plans, customer communications, product literature, training materials, presentations, webinars, or sales enablement resources.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical, product, or commercial information into clear and compelling customer-facing content.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple initiatives, stakeholders, schedules, vendors, and deliverables.

  • Experience coordinating trade shows, conferences, customer events, or other external marketing activities.

  • Ability to analyze sales, customer, campaign, and market information and convert findings into practical recommendations or marketing actions.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, including Sales, Product Line Management, Business Development, Engineering, Operations, and external agencies or vendors.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15 percent, including overnight travel.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Experience in B2B marketing within telecommunications, infrastructure, manufacturing, engineered products, or another technical industry.

  • Experience supporting national or geographically dispersed sales teams, distributors, agents, or dealer networks.

  • Experience with Salesforce or another customer relationship management platform, including lead management, customer segmentation, campaign tracking, or pipeline support.

  • Experience with marketing automation, email marketing, website content management, social media, digital lead generation, or e-commerce initiatives.

  • Experience developing customer-specific value propositions, case studies, success stories, technical content, product demonstrations, or bid support materials.

  • Experience managing marketing budgets, outside agencies, photographers, content providers, promotional vendors, or event partners.

  • Familiarity with market segmentation, customer database management, campaign measurement, and the use of performance data to improve marketing effectiveness.

  • Experience planning or supporting industry trade shows, association activities, customer meetings, and product demonstrations.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. 15% travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
