Shifts Available: Day Shift: Wednesday - Tuesday (7/on, 7/off)
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: 10-hour shift: 9:30a - 7:30p
Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician, sometimes referred to as a Registered Certificated Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) or Board-Certified Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy Technicians support Pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, including sterile IVs, chemotherapy, and unit-dose drugs for patients. They manage medication inventory across patient care areas, maintain automated dispensing systems, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in patient safety by verifying orders, preventing errors, and ensuring timely delivery of critical medications.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

Prepare and dispense medications including unit-dose, IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and operate automated dispensing cabinets

Manage inventory across nursing units, crash carts, and automated systems while handling controlled substances and monitoring expirations

Enter and verify medication orders in hospital EMR systems to ensure accuracy of dosage, form, route, and frequency

Support patient safety by checking labels, assisting with medication reconciliation, delivering medications, and preparing drugs for specialized populations

Comply with USP standards, maintain regulatory documentation, and take on specialized roles such as IV compounding, clinical support, or lead technician duties
Qualifications

State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous Pharmacy Technician experience, preferred

Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program, preferred
