Charge Nurse (RN) LTAC Department

Work location: Texas Health Specialty 1304 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth TX 76104

Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) with weekend and holiday requirements

Department highlights:

  • Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth

  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

  • Provides leadership and clinical expertise for Texas Health Specialty (10-bed) long term acute care hospital, located within Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, to provide individualized and holistic care for patients with intensive nursing needs.

  • We care for those with medically complex cases such as:

  • Ventilator-dependent patients with rehabilitation potential

  • Multiple trauma patients

  • Patients with complex wound care

  • Multisystem failure patients

Here's What You Need:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Diploma of Nursing.

  • BSN preferred

  • 1 year experience as a registered nurse in acute care setting required

  • 2+ years experience as registered nurse in acute care setting preferred

  • TX Registered Nurse Upon Hire required

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire prior to providing independent patient care required and maintained quarterly.

  • ACLS - within 90 days of hire preferred

  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 Days preferred.

  • LTAC, Critical care or Progressive Care experience preferred

The Charge Nurse

  • Will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team

  • Support and actively participate in shared governance/councils

  • Show commitment to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Directly assists leadership by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
