Full job description

Material Master Data Specialist

Contract 5 months

Pay: $40-50/hr. based on experience

Maple Grove, MN

Hybrid work schedule – Monday, Friday from home – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in office

Product Management – the quarterback for the team, decides what products from sell, how much (internal team will help while this), timing on delivery and train broader sales team on product data – as needed.

The team:

Supports 4 product managers on the team – and 4 others to work with from cross functional side.

Managing Data in SAP on all products. 2-3 data sets a day are being developed/entered in SAP – all the details need regular updating. Look at AI to improve processes. Get to know current status, how to move into SAP as it is updated to an AI integration platform and be curious enough to automate/PI with AI.

Experience and attributes of good candidate :

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in material data management or similar role.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Materials Master Data Specialist:

The Materials Master Data Specialist at ZEISS IQS North America is responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of material master data within the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This role ensures that all material data is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with company standards and regulatory requirements. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Data Management:

  • Create, update, and maintain material master data in the ERP system.

  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all platforms.

  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with Product Management, Accounting, Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to gather and verify material data.

  • Serve as the point of contact for material data inquiries and issues.

  • Facilitate training sessions for staff on data management best practices.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and data quality improvements.

  • Support the implementation of new systems and tools to streamline material master data creation in ERP systems.

  • Provide recommendations of alternative processes to drive efficiency in managing master data.

  • Perform other duties as directed by Management

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate reports and analyses to support sales and finance decision-making.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material data accuracy and timeliness
