About this Job
The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the veteran population of Louisiana by providing medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Food Service Specialist Manager to serve as the Manager of the Dietary department of the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home, a long-term healthcare facility. This role is responsible for the dietary department personnel in all major activities and everyday job duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of food service experience in a food service operation; OR
Four years of training in food technology, food service management, or in a food service-related curriculum in a trade school or technical institute; OR
Forty-eight semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, food service preparation, home economics, or hotel, food service, restaurant, or institutional management.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The Food Service Specialist Manager:

Attends care plan meetings and conducts nutrition risk evaluations promptly according to the MDS charting schedule provided by the nursing service.

Develops a work schedule for dietary employees.

Inspects and monitors the kitchen using the sanitation checklist and tray list checklist and delegates all inspections as necessary.

Responsible for forecasting the amount of supplies needed and analyzing the budget for the dietary department.

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
Compensation: This position includes a premium pay of $1.00 per hour for each hour physically worked.
Location: Dietary Department of the Northeast LA Veterans Home in Monroe, Louisiana
